High School Science Teacher
Bozeman Field School is a small, independent, non-profit high school in Bozeman,
Montana, built on a simple idea: every student learns differently, and education should
be shaped around the individual. Our place-based, experiential curriculum blends core
academics with Expeditions, Immersives, internships, and a personalized Capstone
project, helping students grow into curious, kind, and resilient people who can find their
own path to purpose.

We are seeking a full-time High School Science Teacher to join our faculty for the
2026–2027 school year, starting in August 2026. This is an opportunity to teach in small,
close-knit classes, build lasting relationships with students as an advisor, and bring
science to life through fieldwork, inquiry, and hands-on investigation in and beyond the
classroom.

Key Duties:
● Teach up to four sections of high school science, including Earth and
Environmental Science, Biology, and Chemistry.
● Maintain student academic records.
● Serve as academic advisor for up to five students.
● Attend four week-long overnight field trips (“Expeditions”) with students.
Essential Qualifications & Qualities:
● Experience teaching at the high school level
● Highly organized, attentive to detail, and proactive
● Flexibility, humor, and good-nature
● Ability to communicate and give feedback to students and co-workers
● Bachelor’s degree

Desired Qualifications & Qualities:
● Experience teaching in an independent school
● Experience working with common grading, and school management software,
including Google Classroom.
● Teaching credential and/or Master’s Degree or higher
