Position Overview: For 90 years, the Bridger Ski Foundation has been a community institution that has served as a second family to thousands of youth and developed an impressive free winter trail system, while also maintaining a reputation as one of the best ski clubs in the U.S. The Development Director bridges the gap between vision and execution, ensuring that BSF’s non-athletic priorities—fundraising and community engagement–support the revenue health of BSF, while also nurturing the internal culture that makes BSF special.

We’re looking for an individual with a strong track record of fundraising, including managing a portfolio of both major and community donors, corporate partners, foundations and government grants. This person should love relationship-building across a wide range of stakeholders and preferably love to ski. This is mission-driven work with a warm and welcoming community of supporters, alumni, and passionate staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Operations: Oversees the fundraising functions including: events, a large portfolio of corporate sponsors, major gift cultivation, grants, and diversifying revenue streams beyond traditional "asks."
External Affairs: This role often serves as the public face for BSF and presents to various audiences.
Strategic Leadership: Assists the ED in finalizing the Strategic Plan and translates big-picture goals into actionable priorities and real outcomes.
Organizational Health: Acts as a culture-builder to ensure efficiency, clarity, and cohesion. Works with leadership and the board to guide the organization’s strategies.

Specific Duties:

Lead cultivation and solicitation of donations, sponsorships, major gifts from individuals, foundations, small businesses, corporations
Manage and grow donor portfolio
Work with the Executive Director, Program Directors, Board, and members of the development team to implement fundraising goals and strategies.
Oversee fundraising campaigns
Oversee management of donor database
Represent BSF at events, meetings, and public forums
Manage a grants calendar, prospect lists, and prepare grant proposals
Engage volunteer leaders, including members of the Board, in fundraising efforts
Strategize with volunteer leaders and members of the Board on how to maximize financial return on existing/future fundraising events (e.g., Ski Swap, Film Fest, Auctions, etc.).
