We'll name the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) elephant in the room, get honest about what it means to lead in the current climate, and discuss how to stay in the work without losing ourselves or our people.\n\nWe will talk through the different ways organizations are responding and how to figure out what's right for you. We'll discuss how to assess your internal readiness and risk, explore how to stay accountable and grounded so you don't spiral into urgency or burnout, and consider what principled, strategic, and relational leadership looks like in this moment.\n\nWHO SHOULD JOIN:\n\nThis Nonprofit Cafe is for nonprofit leaders committed to advancing equity while navigating evolving conversations and perspectives in their communities.\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKER:\n\nMeshayla Cox (she/her) is the Principal Consultant of CoEquity Consulting, where she supports organizations in building cultures rooted in equity, relationship, and embodied change. Grounded in the belief that how we are is as important as what we do, her work weaves somatics, collective care, and strategic equity practice to create meaningful transformation. Her leadership is shaped by experiences as a Defending Democracy Fellow with Western States Center, a Cornell Certified Diversity Professional, and an Indy Equity Collaborative Fellow. She is Dare to Lead™ trained, with additional certifications in nonprofit management and embedding racial equity into business strategy.
