Sustainable revenue is built by guiding donors along a continuum—from their contact with your organization, to their first gift, to recurring gifts to their ultimate legacy. Designed for fundraising professionals seeking practical, high-impact strategies, this interactive workshop breaks down two critical drivers of long-term organizational stability: monthly giving and planned giving.

Split evenly between the two tracks, this hands-on session moves beyond theory. In the first half, you'll learn from Emily Allison how to launch, structure, and scale a high-retention monthly giving program. In the second half, Justin Barth will help you demystify planned giving, spotting immediate low-hanging fruit and strategies to unstick stalled initiatives. Through guided table exercises and real-time planning, you will leave with a clear roadmap, actionable next steps, and practical tools to build a resilient fundraising pipeline.

WHO SHOULD JOIN:

This session is ideal for development directors, fundraising staff, and executive directors. All Gallatin County nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers are encouraged to attend.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Emily Allison grew up in Bozeman, Montana, and graduated from Middlebury College in 2010. Shortly thereafter, she returned to Bozeman to coach for the local Nordic ski team and led backpacking trips both in the US and internationally. In 2015, she launched into the world of marketing and design when she was brought on as a Project Manager for Brickhouse Creative, a marketing and design company in Bozeman. Emily is currently the Development Director for Bridgercare, the local nonprofit reproductive and sexual healthcare clinic in Bozeman, and absolutely loves her job and the whole Montana nonprofit community!

Justin Barth is Director of Development for Gallatin Valley Land Trust. He can typically be found at Wild Crumb or Vienne connecting with GVLT supporters over shared values of trails and open spaces in our community. His favorite life memory is hiking from Old Faithful to Canada on the Continental Divide Trail, but that podium placing memory may soon be usurped by weekend camping trips with his two-year-old son. Justin holds degrees in biology and environmental studies from Pacific Lutheran University and a Nonprofit Management Certificate from Notre Dame University. Justin grew up in Kalispell, which he regularly visits to see his family and his beloved cabin in the stunning North Fork of the Flathead.
