DESCRIPTION:

"I'm so burnt out." We hear this phrase from colleagues, from friends, in the media, and from ourselves, but what can we do to prevent burnout from happening in the first place? Please join us in this workshop where we will explore one area of burnout prevention: our own understanding of stress. We will explore the science of stress and practice evidence-based strategies that can be effective in reducing feelings of overwhelm in ourselves, or when taught to others, and can increase our distress tolerance over time.

Fall is almost here, and with it comes the busiest stretch of the nonprofit year: fundraising campaigns, year-end asks, board meetings, and holiday programming. This session helps you build your toolkit before the rush hits.

WHO SHOULD JOIN:

This Nonprofit Cafe session is a great fit for staff at every level, from program and development roles to executive directors. All nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers are encouraged to attend.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Through observing the power of place-based learning and the capacity for healing that can occur while immersed in the natural world, Ellie sought greater understanding of why people do what they do, as well as how people change. After receiving a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Montana, Ellie worked in community mental health as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving children and families.

Ten years ago, Ellie opened Routefinder Consulting to support individuals and organizations focused on enhancing their leadership and wellbeing. She uses her skills as a mental health clinician, a systems-oriented change-maker, and an invested collaborator with individuals, organizations, and communities to pursue vitality within individuals and throughout systems. Her trauma-informed approach is rooted in the importance of how relationships are critical for our healing.

She holds some simple truths: we are all doing the best we can, there is always opportunity for growth, and our past is not our destiny.
