DESCRIPTION:

In late June 2026, Giving USA will release its annual report on philanthropy in 2025. Join Giving Institute member Stillwater Strategy Partners and principal consultant Jason Smith for a special briefing that shares early insight into this year's report and explores what the findings may mean for local, regional, and national fundraising efforts.

While 2025 data has not yet been released, we know the findings will help nonprofit leaders better understand the evolving giving landscape and prepare for what comes next.

The past is never a perfect predictor of the future, but the facts, figures, and trends highlighted in the report can help organizations adapt their fundraising strategies with greater confidence. Together, we'll explore who is giving, what is motivating donors, what may be creating barriers to giving, and how nonprofits can strengthen their development efforts in response to changing trends.

WHO SHOULD JOIN:

All Gallatin County nonprofit staff and board members are welcome! This session will be especially beneficial to nonprofit Executive Directors, Directors of Development, and board members.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Throughout his 30 year career, Jason Smith has provided effective leadership as the chief executive officer for domestic human services organizations, executive vice president for a growing health system and its independent foundation, campaign manager and vice president for a public university's largest-ever fundraising effort and as head of global corporate communications for the world's largest international humanitarian organization. He's also served in significant volunteer governance roles with leading organizations across multiple sectors.

A Southern California native who now calls Montana home, Jason credits his professional success to a passion for serving those in need, building collaborative teams and fostering life-long relationships between donors, advocates and the causes that help communities thrive. On the more personal front, he attributes his "life success" to marrying up more than three decades ago, staying active with his 17 and 14 year old kids and taking full advantage of Bozeman's amazing outdoor activities.
